Abstract

His Eminence, Dr Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam Obi III, Oba of Ogbaland, is a revered monarch, legal scholar, and public servant with a distinguished career in traditional leadership, academia, and the oil and gas industry. He was born into the royal Umuebe Kindred in 1966 during Nigeria's turbulent post-independence era and has been groomed from childhood under the guidance of his father, the late Oba Chukumela Nnam Obi II. A seasoned legal professional, Dr. Obi holds multiple degrees in law, including a master’s from the National Open University of Nigeria, and has served in numerous leadership roles across both state and federal institutions. As a devout Anglican Christian and custodian of Ogba culture, he embodies the blend of spiritual conviction, intellectual rigour, and royal tradition. His installation as Chancellor of the University of Africa, Toru-Orua, marks a symbolic convergence of knowledge, heritage, and service.
