    Earlier yesterday, the University of Africa Toru-orua played host to the World Wide President of the National Union of Izon-Ibe Students Comrade Josiah Temeoweimiebi Precious in company of other national NUIS Executives. The NUIS delegation which was jointly received by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma; the Deputy Vice Chancellor, The Registrar, Dr. Akpoebi Adesi and other members of staff came for the inauguration of the executives for the University of Africa Chapter and also to intimate the management of the university on the importance to preserve the ijaw language, culture and ways of life of the Ijaw people, being a university sited to cater to the needs of the inter-land Ijaw dwellers. The National President noted that his executives are currently on a planned campus tour and they have decided to begin the tour at the University of Africa. He further pleaded that the university constantly cater to the needs of the Ijaw Students and ensure they get the best form of education paying emphasis on the preservation of the Ijaw cultural heritage. Receiving the NUIS delegates, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, expressed joy at the agenda of the NUIS executives stating that the Ijaw language is gradually fading away and as such the move of the executive is a very timely one. He informed that the University of Africa Toru-orua is already on the fore-front to ensure that students appear descent at all times. He added that the newly elected executives should ensure that during the studentsโ€™ week, a session is made out for Ijaw language exhibitions and the Ijaw cultural attires. Lending his voice, the Acting Dean of Student Affair, Dr. Dunu Benson, also commended the move of the NUIS executives at preserving the culture of the Ijaw heritage. He pointed out that Ijaw being the fourth largest tribe in Nigeria, our language and ways of life must not be lost. Highpoint of the meeting was the announcement of cash prices for best dressed Ijaw boy and girl by members of the management during the student week that is just around the corner. The curtesy visit had in attendance the UAT SUG President, Comrade Barbie Mparu and her executives, the Newly elected UAT NUIS executives led by Ogbodana Fidelis Selekeri.
